FORT BOYARD
Located half way between the islands of Aix and Oléron, Fort Boyard is a building that was originally built to protect the Ile d'Aix's harbour and Rochefort's port.
The project to build Fort Boyard dates back to the XVII century, but it did not get off the ground until the XIX century.
